How does BetGPT make its football predictions?
For each match, BetGPT analyses each team’s last 25 matches, home and away form, the last 10 head-to-head meetings, league statistics and odds for the main markets. Its AI turns this into a recommended pick with a confidence level and the stats behind it. The confidence level is an estimate, not a promise.
What data does BetGPT use?
BetGPT is an AI football assistant for iOS and Android, made by MICOM TECH SRL in Romania. For every fixture it looks at:
| Data | What it adds |
|---|---|
| Last 25 matches of each team | Recent form, goals scored and conceded, scoring patterns |
| Home and away form | How each side performs in this specific setting |
| Last 10 head-to-head meetings | How the two teams have matched up in the past |
| League statistics | Typical scoring levels and result patterns in that competition |
| Odds for the main markets | What the market currently expects, and the price on offer |
This sits on a base of data from more than 2 million past matches, across 110+ leagues and cups and 2,500+ teams. That history helps the model put a single fixture in context.
How does it turn data into a pick?
You pick a match and ask a question in plain English, such as “Who wins this one?” or “Over 2.5 or BTTS here?”. BetGPT answers with a recommended pick, a confidence level and the stats that support it.
The match screen shows odds for Match Result (1X2) and Double Chance (1X, X2, 12), the recommended pick and an AI preview called “Why this pick?”. You can then ask follow-up questions like “Is the price worth it?” or “Is it safe for a ticket?” to test the reasoning.
Other parts of the app use the same data in different ways. The daily brief ranks picks by value. Pro Picks add team strength ratings on a 0 to 5 scale, where 3.0 or higher is considered exceptionally strong, and cover markets such as Over/Under 2.5 and BTTS.
What does the confidence level mean?
The confidence level is BetGPT’s estimate of how likely the pick is to win. It is not a guarantee, and it is not a promise about any single match.
Read it as a long-run frequency. Picks at a given confidence level are still expected to lose some of the time:
| Confidence level | Expected to win about | Expected to lose about |
|---|---|---|
| 60% | 6 times in 10 | 4 times in 10 |
| 70% | 7 times in 10 | 3 times in 10 |
| 80% | 8 times in 10 | 2 times in 10 |
So a 70% pick losing is not a sign that something went wrong. It is what the number says will happen about 3 times in 10. Like any estimate, the confidence level can also be wrong.
Confidence is also different from value. A 70% pick at odds of 1.50 (implied 66.7%, since 1 / 1.50 = 66.7%) gives 0.70 × 1.50 = 1.05, which is above 1. The same pick at 1.30 (implied 76.9%) gives 0.70 × 1.30 = 0.91, which is below 1. That is why it helps to ask “Is the price worth it?” as well as “Who wins?”.
What can BetGPT not know?
Statistics describe the past. Football is decided on the day, and a lot of what matters is not in the data, or arrives too late:
- Late team news: line-ups, late injuries, illness or a key player rested.
- In-game events: red cards, penalties, injuries and refereeing decisions.
- Motivation: a team with nothing to play for, a cup match with a rotated squad, or a side focused on a bigger game later in the week.
- Weather and pitch conditions, which can only be judged in full on the day.
- Off-field changes: a new manager, dressing-room problems or travel issues.
- Plain luck: a deflection or a missed sitter can change a result in seconds.
No model, human or AI, can account for all of this, so no prediction is ever certain.
How should you use BetGPT sensibly?
- Treat it as a second opinion. Compare its pick and stats with your own view.
- Check the team news close to kick-off before you bet.
- Look at the price, not just the confidence level.
- Keep stakes small and fixed within a budget you can afford to lose, and never raise stakes to win back losses.
- Skip matches where neither the data nor the price convinces you.
Where BetGPT fits
BetGPT is free to download, with optional in-app purchases, and is rated 4.6 out of 5 from around 15,000 reviews with more than 600,000 downloads. It is built to explain its picks in plain English, so you can see why it leans one way and decide for yourself. Use it to inform your judgement, not to replace it.
